Mao Bamboo (Phyllostachys Pubescens)

Mao Bamboo, also known as Moso Bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens), is the primary raw material for our bamboo flooring products. It is the largest and most economically important bamboo species in China.

Characteristics

• Scientific Name: Phyllostachys pubescens
• Native Region: South China, particularly Zhejiang Province
• Height: Can reach up to 25 meters (80+ feet)
• Diameter: Up to 15-20 cm (6-8 inches)
• Maturation: 4-5 years (vs. 20-50 years for hardwood)
• Regeneration: Regrows from root system without replanting
